Pipe bridge, Baden-Württemberg

This pipe bridge is designed to connect various production areas and to enable the safe routing of utility lines such as water, gas, and other media. The bridge not only improves logistics within the plant but also enhances the efficiency of production processes. It has been dimensioned to withstand high loads while meeting all required safety standards and environmental regulations.

Challenges

One of the greatest challenges was integrating the new pipe bridge into the existing industrial environment. We had to account for various existing structures and pipelines to avoid collisions and ensure the functionality of the current systems was not compromised. Additionally, precise planning and execution were crucial due to the high loads and durability requirements. Meeting the tight project schedule was also a challenge, as it required navigating multiple approval processes and coordinating with several internal departments.

Project phases

01

Requirements Analysis

In the first phase, we identified the client's specific needs and requirements. This included both functional and technical specifications related to the bridge’s load-bearing capacity and usage. Through discussions with the involved stakeholders, we collected all relevant information and established the foundation for planning.

02

Surveying with 3D Laser Scanning

To accurately capture the existing conditions, we carried out a 3D laser scan. This technology allowed us to precisely measure the site and connection points relevant to the planning of the new pipe bridge. The collected data served as the basis for subsequent modeling.

03

As-Built Modeling

Based on the 3D laser scan data, we created a detailed model of the existing site. This included an accurate representation of all relevant structures, utility lines, and obstacles that needed to be integrated into the design of the new bridge.

04

Design Planning – Service Phase 3 (LPH 3)

During the design phase (Service Phase 3), we developed an initial concept for the steel bridge. Various design alternatives were created and critically evaluated. The focus was on optimizing the structural system, selecting appropriate materials, and addressing both functional and aesthetic aspects.

05

Approval – Service Phase 4 (LPH 4)

Following the design phase, we proceeded with the approval planning (Service Phase 4). In this phase, the design plans were submitted to the relevant authorities and stakeholders for approval. These approvals were crucial to ensure that all regulatory requirements were met.

06

Implementation Planning – Service Phase 5 (LPH 5)

In the final planning phase (Service Phase 5), detailed fabrication and installation plans were created. These plans included all necessary technical specifications for the manufacturing and installation of the steel bridge. Additionally, the assembly processes were coordinated to ensure smooth execution during construction.
