Kindergarten Renovation

The goal of the renovation is to improve the building structure, increase energy efficiency, and ensure compliance with safety standards for kindergarten children. The project began with a detailed assessment of the existing building, followed by the creation of a digital 3D model as a visual foundation for planning. A new model was then developed to incorporate the planned modernizations, with a particular focus on structural calculations to ensure load-bearing capacity. The planning phase concluded with the creation of repair and execution plans, as well as detailed construction drawings to enable professional implementation of the renovation.

Challenges

One of the biggest challenges of the project was addressing the special requirements of a safe and child-friendly kindergarten environment. Additionally, the historical building structure had to be preserved, which posed high demands on structural calculations. The lack of existing building plans due to the age of the structure necessitated a complete digital survey and scanning process. This extensive step provided a detailed foundation to modernize the building according to current standards and meet the technical requirements for kindergartens.

Project phases

01

Requirements Analysis

In this phase, the specific requirements of the renovation project were analyzed and documented. This included identifying the needs of future users—particularly the unique requirements of a kindergarten—as well as structural and legal conditions. The aim was to create a detailed planning basis that incorporates all functional, safety, and regulatory aspects.

02

3D Laser Scanning Survey

Using 3D laser scanning, the existing building and surrounding site were precisely surveyed. This method ensures high accuracy and detailed documentation of the existing conditions, forming a reliable planning basis for the as-built modeling and subsequent design phases. The resulting point clouds captured all relevant dimensions and building details.

03

As-Built Modeling

Based on the scanned data, a digital 3D model of the existing structure was created. In this phase, all relevant building components and architectural details were modeled to generate a virtual representation of the current condition. This model forms the foundation for all further planning and enables precise coordination of the renovation measures.

04

Design Phase (LPH 3)

In the design phase, a detailed renovation concept was developed, taking into account all aesthetic, functional, and technical requirements. The concept included proposals for repair measures and improvements, energy optimization, and the implementation of kindergarten-specific needs. The designs were coordinated in collaboration with all project partners and approval authorities.

05

Approval Planning (LPH 4)

During the approval planning phase, the design was refined and all necessary documents were compiled for submission to the relevant authorities. This phase aimed to obtain official approval for the planned renovation. The detailed renovation measures and structural adaptations were presented to demonstrate compliance with high safety and functionality standards.

06

Implementation Planning (LPH 5)

In this phase, detailed implementation and construction drawings were developed, covering all structural and technical aspects of the renovation. These plans serve as the basis for construction and ensure precise execution of the renovation measures on site. All trades and building components were carefully coordinated to ensure a smooth and high-quality renovation of the kindergarten.
